February is Macy’s Museum Month! Visitors are invited to enjoy half-off admission at more than 40 museums all month long. You can pick up a Free Museum Month pass at any Macy’s in San Diego, Temecula or Imperial Valley. Find a store near you, starting today, February 1, 2018. Each pass admits up to four people at half price and can be used over and over through the month of February. You’ll also receive an exclusive coupon for up to 20% savings at Macy’s!

During your discounted visit to the Museum, check out our newest installation – Crystal Cortex is finished and hanging in the Museum atrium! In just one week and with the help of our Museum Teaching Artists, artist in residence Jason Hackenwerth constructed this massive 50-foot structure using over 14,000 balloons.

The structure continues to change and evolve each day as the balloons deflate and bend in shape. Be sure to visit this installation while it floats in The New Children’s Museum through March, 2018! You can learn more about Crystal Cortex, Jason Hackenwerth, and other Museum installations through our installations page!

For Our Members

Museum Members: You’re Invited to a Members-Only Opening of our New Painted Object during our Members Only Time on March 4! Getting messy and painting on our Paint & Clay Patio has been a visitor favorite throughout our history – whether it was painting a truck, a VW bug, a tractor or our current covered wagon. We’re getting ready to say “happy trails” to the Go West wagon and welcome a NEW retro Painted Object! And we’re celebrating with a special opening between 9:30 and 11:00am on Sunday, March 4.

Come by and be some of the first to paint our new object! Be sure to submit your own #tbt photos from previous painted objects through social media or email. Your photo could be featured in the new installation or featured on social media!
