january member spotlight: sandra lwee

This month we’re excited to feature Sandra Lwee and her lovely family! Sandra is a Supporter Level Member and joined the Museum family in 2015. As a small family of three, Sandra and her husband’s favorite thing to do is spend quality time with their daughter. They’ve been visiting the Museum since their daughter was 3 years old and have spent many play dates here. Three years later, the Lwee family still enjoys all the fun exhibits and creative art activities each time they visit the Museum!

What do you remember about your first time visiting the Museum?

S: The motion sensitive rope exhibit that creates sounds according to tension on each rope. I thought that was really cool!

What’s been your favorite experience so far?

S: We all love The Wonder Sound. I especially LOVE the small room with many spoons hanging on the ceiling. SO AWESOME!

What is the craziest or the coolest thing you’ve created with us?

S: Clay sculptures! We have built many “Moosterpieces!”

What’s the best/funniest memory you have at the Museum?

S: My daughter pretending to be a broccoli and me pretending to be soap in the sink exhibit upstairs. I would chase her around saying, ‘It’s bath time for broccoli!’

Quick! What is the first word you think of when you hear The New Children’s Museum?

S: Innovative.

Any fun facts about you?

S: My daughter and I love putting our “piggies” in the sand in Sandbox Gallery and have long philosophical discussions in our pretend robot voices. Good times!
