Weekend Ceramics Workshops
Explore clay and the pottery wheel in our weekend ceramics workshops designed for kids and families. These hands-on studio experiences offer a welcoming introduction to working with clay through guided instruction, creative exploration, and tactile learning.
Participants will experiment with foundational ceramics techniques, including wheel throwing and handbuilding, while learning about form, texture, and process in a supportive studio environment. Workshops are beginner-friendly and led by experienced teaching artists, with all materials provided.
Each session is designed as a small-group experience to allow for individualized support and meaningful making time. Advance registration is recommended, as space is limited.
Clay Together: Ceramics Workshop (Ages 5–7 with Adult)
Spend a creative morning working side by side with your child in this caregiver-and-child ceramics workshop for ages 5–7 and their grown-ups. Guided by Museum teaching artists, families will explore clay through playful, hands-on activities in a welcoming studio space.
Pinch, coil, roll, and sculpt as you collaborate on imaginative clay creations and enjoy the process of making together. No experience needed and all materials are included.

Intro to the Pottery Wheel: Ceramics Workshop (Ages 8+)
This one-session ceramics workshop introduces young artists ages 8 and up to the pottery studio and the thrill of wheel throwing. Participants will learn foundational techniques to center clay, shape simple forms, and create their first ceramic pieces.
Designed for beginners, this hands-on class focuses on creative exploration and skill-building in a supportive studio environment. No prior experience needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to get a little muddy.
