Girl Scouts Badge Program

Artopia: NCM Creative Studios is proud to be a community partner with the Girl Scouts of San Diego! Our Girl Scout Badge Workshops give Scouts the opportunity to explore creativity, design, and collaboration through hands-on artmaking experiences inspired by The New Children’s Museum’s contemporary art installations.

Each session is guided by a professional Teaching Artist and connects directly to the Art and Design Badge requirements, which encourages Scouts to think creatively, experiment with materials, and work together in fun and meaningful ways.

Activities include:

  • Exploring the work of artist Cannupa Hanska Luger (he/him) and the power of perspective

  • Collaborative ink drawing exercises inspired by aerial landscapes

  • Creating textured maps using DIY brushes and mark-making

  • Designing and building cardboard creatures and structures
