September Member Spotlight: Jimmy Campos

Meet this month’s Member Spotlight! Jimmy and his family have been members for one year. The family includes Jimmy, Alana (wife), Vita (8 years old), Cecilia (7 years old) and Eva (6 years old). Jimmy used to bring their oldest daughter (now 27 years old) to the Museum when it was Children’s Museum/Museo de los Niños San Diego. Now the whole family enjoys trips to our creative space!

Tell us about you and your family!

Jimmy: We love going to The New Children’s Museum! We just became members last year and we’ve enjoyed every single visit! We are a very active family – from ice skating, to roller skating, to hiking, to going to the beach and playing soccer. We always make time to come to the Museum! We live Downtown so we scoot away in between the skyline through this beautiful city to get to the Museum. It’s always fun and it’s always an ADVENTURE!

What’s been your favorite experience at the Museum so far?

J: The kids find every area fascinating! Though, I do have to say, they always go to the Clay Studio first, and we have a collection of those at home. Don’t tell my kids, but sometimes they don’t make it home.

Any fun facts about you?

J: We travel in the summer. My kids have been to Greece, Spain, France and Mexico. We stay very active and we love Baja, California! We are always looking for adventures and fun things to do in the city and outside. I am a very active parent (done three full Ironmans and many marathons). I believe that staying active and going outside is a great way to live. Being with my family is the best thing ever!
