Boo! It’s October- can you believe it? We have a few spooky-fun surprises at the Museum this month in celebration of Halloween, come by and experience them on your next visit! This month is also Kids Free October, children receive FREE admission to our Museum along with a number of local attractions and Museums all over San Diego.
A new month means another Member Spotlight. This month we are incredibly excited to introduce the Vickerman family. Reed Vickerman, the patriarch of the family is our Museum’s newly appointed COO+CFO.
Do you remember the first time you visited the Museum?
We visited the Museum often with our three children in the 90s when it was in the La Jolla Village Square Shopping Center. Later we visited it downtown when the Museum moved to the Sunlight Electric warehouse. Now we come to the new building with our three grandsons.
What are your favorite things to do at the Museum?
Ryder (age 3) loves the little cars in the Desert Derby, Asher (age 5) loves to draw superheros and Cash (1) just loves to crawl among the big fruit in Wobbleland.
What’s the best memory you have at the Museum?
When the chickens were here I explained to the boys that is where eggs come from. They wanted to know who was cooking them eggs for breakfast.
Favorite spot for lunch in San Diego?
Café 222 – breakfast for lunch. Love the blueberry cornbread waffles!
Who would win in a Car-a-oke contest?
Ryder. He loves to sing and dance (he gets all sweaty).
Quick! What’s the first word you think of when I say New Children’s Museum?
Fun!
Favorite weekend activity? (besides visiting the Museum, of course).
Swimming at the Cove. The whole family is a “school of fish.”
