These are just a few of our favorite things...

Have you finished your holiday shopping yet? We have creative and playful items available for sale in the Museum! Our Pop Up Shop features several local, mission-aligned and for-good products sourced and curated by our Museum staff. Our Museum Pop Up Shop is a great last stop to do some holiday shopping!

Tangerine Toys

Tangerine Toys is a local San Diego/Tijuana toy distributor that specializes in wooden toys and designed accessories for your little ones. Their products are handmade one by one with care and love using natural materials such as high quality wood, 100% organic cotton, and eco-certified paints and finishes. Owner Anai Cano Jimenez aims to create fun and functional toys and accessories with enduring quality and simple yet stimulating design.

We are proud to feature several different items from Tangerine Toys. We especially admire the beautifully hand-crafted building blocks. Created for construction and imaginative play, these building blocks are made from great quality maple hardwood and carefully sanded to be soft and smooth to the touch. The set includes 20 wooden blocks in different shapes and sizes, packaged in a beautiful durable screen-printed wooden box with slide cover.

Karma Pharma

Karma Pharma is a small family business based out of San Diego, founded on the shared beliefs to protect our environment, be less wasteful, and use high quality materials that are safe and healthy for everyone. The creators’ vision is to create a business that focuses on small and ethical production. All fabric is GOTS certified organic cotton and all wood is sourced and made in the USA. With the belief that health and wellness are the keys to happiness, owners Thupten and Jason strive to make safe and healthy pieces not only for their little one, but for everyone who purchases Karma Pharma products.

The Museum Pop Up Shop features several Karma Pharma items, including cotton bibs and wrapping blankets, and beautiful maple and birch teething necklaces. Really, anyone can wear this necklace! Strung on a 100% natural cotton cord, the various sized maple and birch wood beads are finished with homemade, organic olive oil and beeswax wood butter. No worries if baby grabs a hold of the beads while you’re wearing this statement piece because it doubles as a clutching/teething necklace!

Little Sun

What started as a humble idea to create a small, portable solar lamp for people without electricity in Ethiopia is now a global project that has changed over a million lives through the awesome power of the sun. The creators of Little Sun, artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen, believe in the power of sustainable light and energy to transform lives, especially those 1.1 billion of people who live without access to energy. With the idea that we are all connected by our need for light, energy and happiness, Little Sun aims to strengthen communities from the inside.

The Little Sun lamp in the Pop Up Shop is an iconic high-quality portable solar lamp that provides up to 50 hours of soft light and makes a great introduction for kids to sustainable living. Every Little Sun sold delivers one Little Sun to an African community without electricity at a locally affordable price.
