Experience joy in a reflective disco paradise
Disco Rainbow Cave is a space of embodied joyousness for toddlers (3 years and under) and their caregivers to join in celebration and experience a momentary escape into an alternate reality. Head to the dance floor to practice your moves. Play with spinning “lava lamps”. Gaze into the reflective surfaces found in the many disco balls and wall elements. Soak in the funky vibes of this unforgettable disco experience. While you do, meet other caregivers and share moments of joy with each other.

Tanya Aguiñiga is a Los Angeles-based artist/designer who uses craft to generate dialogue and community. Her first commissioned art installation for The New Children’s Museum was Texture Forest, created in 2008 and in 2019 she brought us Tikitiko, a multisensory toddler space. The Disco Rainbow Cave is Tanya’s latest NCM creation, designed as a space of embodied joy and inspired by the discotheques of the 1970s. This installation welcomes toddlers into an immersive environment where they can use all of our senses to explore, play, and boogie.
