We are thrilled to announce an exciting new program for educators at The New Children’s Museum, introducing the Seeding Speculative Futures: Educators Institute!
This two-day program invites educators who work with children, youth and/or college students to explore ways in which the writings of award-winning author Octavia E. Butler (she/her) and speculative fiction can inform our work as educators. During the program, we will make space for participants to dream, plant seeds, and focus on worldmaking our collective futures as educators and worldbuilders in our communities.
This program is a collaborative project created and designed by Octavia E. Butler: Seeding Futures advising curator Dr. Ayana Jamieson (she/her), Andrea Fullington (she/her) from The Black School, and The New Children’s Museum.
