Join us for the first installment of our quarterly Seeding Future Author Visit series on Saturday, March 23 from 10am-12pm, featuring Marti Dumas, author of “Wildseed Witch” and a      free art activity led by our NCM team!

Marti will conduct a 30-minute reading, and answer questions about her contemporary fantasy series featuring social media-loving-tween, Hasani, who gets into an ultra-private witch camp! Drawing heavily from Octavia E. Butler’s “Wild Seed” novel, Marti provides a youth-focused reinterpretation for a new generation.

Following the reading, Marti will be available to sign books and take photos. During the event, you will be able to make friendship bracelets and take home an art activity that will have you designing your own signature flower charm necklace with air dry modeling clay!

This event will take place in Children’s Museum Park across the street from NCM. Museum admission is included with free registration to this book signing event, and the first 10 registrants will receive a complimentary copy of the book (limit 1 per family)! Joyride Bookshop will also be selling copies of “Wildseed Witch” Books 1 and 2.

“Wildseed Witch” is geared towards late elementary and middle school students, but all are welcome! Register now to secure your free spot.

This event is an extension of NCM’s “Science Fiction Creates the Future” programming. Author visits in this exciting series will continue to feature books influenced by Octavia E. Butler.
