Every day is an adventure at The New Children’s Museum… it’s such a dream to have it in our neighborhood!

Happy New Year! The Museum is so excited for 2017 and all of the amazing things we have coming up. Our newest installation, Make Shift, will be opening at the end of the month which will be an interactive space for children of all ages!

This month also brings with it a new member family spotlight! This month we are spotlighting Federica Fornaciari and her son Eddie. Read more about this great family below!

Tell us a little about your wonderful family!
It’s me (Fede), my husband Ian, and Eddie who is two and a half.
I am a native Italian and so is Eddie… When we are not at the Children’s Museum (or at work) we are usually cooking, talking about food, trying to keep Eddie from destroying the house and playing music!

Do you remember your first time visiting the Museum?
It was a few days after we moved to San Diego this past April. We weren’t sure whether to commit to a membership… but we soon realized that was be the best choice we had ever made!

What are your favorite things to do at the Museum?
We love most areas – Eddie’s current favorites are the bubbles lounge, cardboard chaos, the magnets and the bounce tunnel.

What’s the best memory you have at the Museum?
Every day is an adventure at The New Children’s Museum… it’s such a dream to have it in our neighborhood! I remember when Eddie discovered the Cardboard Chaos room. When he realized he could build cardboard towers and run right through them he was so excited I though he was going to pass out laughing…

Favorite spot for lunch in San Diego?
San Diego is a food paradise, so it’s hard to pick! Last week my husband took me to Bracero…. I had the best grilled octopus of my life! I love Flour & Barely’s pizza, and Pappalecco’s gelato.

Who would win in a Car-a-oke contest?
Eddie for sure – his strategy? He keeps changing the song and holds on to all the microphones 😉

Quick! What is the first thing you think of when you hear “The New Children’s Museum”?
The smiley faces of all the personnel working there!

Favorite weekend activity (besides visiting us, of course.)
Our weekends are all about playing: Waterfront Park, Seaport Village, the Zoo, Old Town, Coronado… but let’s be honest: the Museum is our favorite spot!
