a play-filled morning!
In an effort to serve as a community resource, The New Children’s Museum offers a variety of access programs which are designed to stimulate creativity in children and families throughout local communities. Accessibility Mornings is a quarterly event that allows children with disabilities the opportunity to explore the Museum’s interactive studios and installations with comfort before it opens to the public.
August’s Accessibility Mornings was a morning filled with play and exploration! Little ones interacted with our newest installation, Whammock!, with ease and took part in hands-on art activities. Many children spent time with their caregivers making creations together outside in our Clay Studio, a designated sensory-based zone where visitors can sit and create. We welcomed a number of first-time visitors and long-time Museum lovers.
We were also excited to host a family from Make-A-Wish San Diego at our August event! Daillan and his family were treated to a catered lunch from Bean Sprouts Cafe, goodies from our Pop Up Shop, a membership to the Museum and special access to our conference room. We’re so happy Daillan chose to spend his morning with us and we hope he and his family come back to visit us again soon!
Thank you to Behavior Frontiers for sponsoring this Accessibility Mornings! Because of this partnership, our August event was free to attend. Our next Accessibility Mornings will be held on October 19 from 8-9:30am. Click here to register.
