about the Interactivity conference
InterActivity 2026, the annual conference of Association of Children’s Museums, is coming to San Diego in partnership with The New Children’s Museum. This global gathering brings together children’s museum leaders, educators, artists, designers, and innovators for several days of workshops, keynote sessions, hands-on experiences, and regional site visits. Centered on the theme The Fabric of Belonging: Crafting Spaces for Resilience and Connection, the conference will explore how museums can create more inclusive, creative, and connected communities through play and learning.

2026 theme
The theme for InterActivity 2026 highlights the importance of fostering belonging and connection as the foundation for resilience. Through this theme, children’s museums are called to intentionally craft inclusive spaces where all feel seen, valued and supported. The conference will inspire museum professionals to explore innovative strategies that strengthen both their institutions and communities while emphasizing the role of resilience within museum teams. Together, we will reimagine how museums can act as catalysts for meaningful engagement, cultural understanding, and collective well-being.
