The Museum offers four different styles of tours: think, play, create and innovate! Select which type of tour best suits your classroom goals, student ages and availability.

PLEASE NOTE: School visits are temporarily cancelled during the Museum’s closure. We will be reaching out to the schools with visits booked to reschedule. We will offer priority booking to those with cancelled visits during the closure when the Museum reopens and is able to safely host school visits. THINK tour

During this two-hour THINK tour with a Museum Teaching Artist, your group will get the chance to explore the current array of interactive and creative contemporary art installations. Students will participate in discussions that encourage inquiry-based thinking from original artworks. The tour is sure to inspire discussions that can connect to your curricula in visual art, social studies, science and history.

SELF-GUIDED excursion

Two-hour SELF-GUIDED excursions offer groups the opportunity to explore the Museum’s variety of interactive exhibits at their own pace. Teachers and chaperones lead small groups of students through the spaces with a Museum-provided map and prompts. These self-guided excursions provide the opportunity for classroom curriculum-specific  discussions facilitated by the visiting educator. Teens and adults can play, too!

CREATE exploration

The two-hour CREATE exploration experience focuses on the artists in your students! Students will discuss and experience the interactive art pieces created by contemporary artists in the current exhibition, then create a unique artwork with a Museum Teaching Artist. The guided tour and hands-on art making activity builds students’ problem solving and critical thinking skills as they delve into the artistic process.

INNOVATE Adventure

Starting January 2020. Reserve your space now!

The two-hour INNOVATE adventure focuses on tinkering and innovation! In this guided tour, students will experience the interactive and innovative art spaces in the Museum as well as participate in a hands-on design challenge that promotes skill-building, problem solving and creativity. This tour will be led by one of our experienced Teaching Artists and is inspired by the Museum’s in-house makerspace, Innovators LAB.

Student Fees
THINK and PLAY students: $9
CREATE and INNOVATE students: $12

Chaperone Fees
Policy requires one chaperone per every 20 high school students. Complimentary admission is extended to those adults. Groups will be charged $5 for every additional chaperone beyond a 1:5 ratio. Chaperones accompanying students with special needs are not charged.
