Our commitment to providing anti-racism resources for families

Black Lives Matter Statement posted on June 6, 2020

The New Children’s Museum stands in solidarity against racism and violence targeted at the Black community. We believe that Black Lives Matter. We are committed to supporting the families in our community and those who advocate in the name of justice, equity and our shared humanity. We stand with those seeking healing, understanding, and dialogue in pursuit of a more just world.

As a children’s museum that fosters creative expression and critical thinking, we recognize the importance of taking action and speaking out. We recognize the importance of teaching our children to help others and stand up for racial equality. The Museum will continue to listen to and learn from our community, and strengthen our role as a resource for all families. Artwork by Panca

Resource Lists

We’ve been sharing resources and tools (videos, book lists, art activities, etc.) on our social media channels to help families talk about systemic racism, racial equality, inclusion and social justice topics at home. Below is a list of resources organized by category from partner and trusted educational organizations and institutions that can help children better understand these important topics.

Masks Required

Masks are required for all guests (ages 2+) inside the Museum, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are not required in our outdoor spaces. Click here to read our full Safer Play Policy before visiting the Museum.
