Bring Teatro Piñata to life with your support!

This November, a mysterious, pop-up caravan theatre is scheduled to arrive at The New Children’s Museum. But behind its curtains, nothing is as it seems. This is the world of Teatro Piñata, a celebration of the theatre world by artist-in-residence David Israel Reynoso, an Obie award-winning veteran of set and costume design and founder of OPTIKA MODERNA, in collaboration with The New Children’s Museum. In this immersive art installation, Reynoso and his OPTIKA MODERNA collaborators will use the idea of a pop-up caravan theatre as a portal to an expansive and surreal backstage world. Much like a piñata, what’s inside brings delight to children who crack it open. Learn more about Teatro Piñata here.

We invite you to step up on stage and join us in supporting this extraordinary installation. Gifts of $5,000 or more will include 2 VIP tickets to our annual fundraising gala, Studio 200: Be the Art, that includes an exclusive preview of Teatro Piñata by David Israel Reynoso. We hope to see you there!
