Making the most of your Visit
A museum for all ages. NCM is designed for children of all ages, from toddler to teen. Some areas and activities are age specific—like Barn Dance for toddlers and the Teen Studio for teenagers—while other parts of the Museum are designed to engage children of all ages.

The best time to visit. Anxious to avoid the crowds? Monday mornings, Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings have been designated as Vons Family Fun Time! You won’t have to share the galleries with as many people and you’ll have more opportunities to experience the Museum on your own.

Target Free Second Sundays have become extremely popular. On these days, please be prepared for long lines at entry and a wait for some gallery and studio spaces.

NCM is a place where kids are encouraged to touch everything—to think, play and create. In order to make everyone’s Museum experience a positive one, we ask all visitors to read and follow our Museum rules. Museum rules are based on safety, common sense, and courtesy to other visitors.

Accessibility NCM is committed to serving visitors with special needs. Our building is equipped with three elevators as well as wheelchair friendly flooring throughout. Members of our Visitor Services staff are trained to help visitors with special needs experience the Museum installations. There are dedicated accessible parking spaces for disabled visitors adjacent to the north entrance of the NCM building.

Strollers are permitted in the Museum gallery space for children unable to walk on their own. For the safety of Museum visitors and traffic flow, visitors are encouraged to park their strollers in the designated indoor stroller parking area. The New Children’s Museum is not responsible for damage or loss of strollers or other personal items.
