. The New Children’s Museum has extended hours on Thursdays until 6pm.
Inspired by his There Goes the Neighborhood! project, artist David White will transform the Teen Studio into a monument to local small businesses that challenge teen visitors to ask questions like: Could a barber shop be a museum? Could a grocery store be a classroom? Could an art gallery be a civic space? White will exhibit loaned artifacts and objects from local businesses in an effort to integrate the neighborhood and gallery space and challenge teens to expand their notion of where art and art-making can take place. Teen visitors will have the opportunity to practice silk-screening using the phrases above and their own choice of a business or location in the blank space. The installation will also be supplemented by documentation, photos and video, of events from There Goes the Neighborhood!
