THE NEW CHILDREN’S MUSEUM JOINS IN SDSU MONTH CELEBRATION
February 24, 2009—Nearly half of San Diego State University’s living alumni call San Diego home. In fact, at The New Children’s Museum, nine employees are proud SDSU graduates.
To help commemorate SDSU and its contribution to our community, The New Children’s Museum will participate in the seventh annual SDSU Month this March, in celebration of all the SDSU graduates, faculty, staff, students and supporters who call San Diego home.
SDSU students, faculty/staff or alumni are invited to think, play and create - at a discount - throughout the month of March at The New Children’s Museum. They are invited to enjoy interactive exhibitions, hands-on studio projects and educational offerings for the entire family. Anyone with a SDSU student, faculty/staff or alumni ID card will receive 50% off admission.
In addition, NCM will participate in the 12th annual Theatre of the World Festival, March 14. SDSU’s School of Theatre, Television and Film presents this fun-filled cultural celebration featuring music, dance and stage performances representing a range of Middle Eastern cultures. As an extension of NCM Studio Projects, kids will have a chance to roll up their sleeves and explore creative art and design. The hands on project for this festival will take a “world” approach as each child will paint onto a single canvas creating a progressive work of art.

ABOUT THE NEW CHILDREN’S MUSEUM
The New Children’s Museum is a dynamic new model of a museum that celebrates children and the visual arts. A non-profit institution funded by memberships and community support, the Museum empowers children to think, play and create with participatory exhibitions, hands-on studio opportunities, and in-depth classroom experiences.
Since opening a new downtown facility in May 2008, The New Children’s Museum has been warmly embraced by the community, serving more than 129,000 visitors in the first eight months of operation. Designed by San Diego architect Rob Wellington Quigley, the environmentally sustainable building is one of the first “green” museums in California.
